  • (BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL) Roof Top Tent Mounts

    Dimensions
    Quantity

Mount your roof top tent to your roof or bed rack effortlessly with these heavy-duty mounts. Built to last, they won't bend or break, ensuring your RTT stays securely in place without sliding. Say goodbye to flimsy stamped washers that fail to protect your valuable investment! Note that I no longer include black caps.

These mounts are designed for a variety of racks, but it’s essential to measure the dimensions of your tubing before ordering to ensure a proper fit. If you order the wrong size, you’ll need to cover return shipping costs before we send out a replacement. Tubing sizes can vary across roof rack brands and models, and many manufacturers don’t provide detailed specifications, so it’s up to you to confirm your measurements.

Our mounts are built with tight tolerances and are oversized by 0.015" to accommodate powder coating. However, if your coating is thicker, you may need to sand or file your tubing or the mount opening for a precise fit. These mounts are compatible with roof top tents that use standard aluminum mounting tracks with 5/16-18 or M8 hex head bolts.

When choosing the quantity, consider the weight and value of your tent. For heavier, more expensive tents, we recommend more than the standard 4-pack to ensure secure installation. Additionally, your specific rack and the rails under your tent may limit how many mounts you can use, so take that into account during installation planning.

Installing a roof top tent can be a challenging task, let’s get that out of the way! If you’re simply swapping out bent plates for our mounts, the process will be much quicker. However, if you’re lifting the tent or installing it for the first time, we highly recommend having 2-3 people to help, as tents are large and heavy.

Our mounts are designed with a 0.100" gap between the top of your tubing and the top of the mount. This allows for compression and accommodates variations in powder coating and tubing thickness. During installation, it’s crucial to create an even gap. Uneven or “cockeyed” mounts won’t work as effectively. Start by tightening one bolt using a 1/2" socket or box wrench, then alternate between bolts, tightening evenly until there’s no less than a 0.080" gap. Over-tightening may bend the mounts or cause them to bottom out.

After installation, check that the mounts remain snug after a test drive or two. For added safety, inspect them again before any long trips.

Made in-house in the USA from black anodized aluminum and includes stainless steel hardware.

    Returns

To ensure the quality and integrity of our products for all customers, we no longer accept returns on our machined aluminum products as of January 2025. This decision was made due to an increasing number of items being returned either after temporary use or without proper return packaging, resulting in damage upon arrival.

If you accidentally ordered the wrong size, simply click the "Exchanges" tab above, and we'll take care of it for you.
